Working life at Toons and

Twins Mary and Marjory have lived in Earl Shilton all their lives. They started work together at J. Toon Hosiery Ltd, Earl Shilton at the ages of 14 in 1945 and talk about their first jobs, first week’s wage and hi-jinks. They chatted about how things changed over the years – ‘a rat-race’. Everyone went home for their dinner and remarked on how busy Earl Shilton was at 6 o’clock in the evening with buses taking everyone home.
